Red alerts flashed 2 weeks ago as Daughters Of Wealthy Fathers became aware of rumoured Radiohead activity. Sadly, the post King Of Limbs stupor continued unharmed; the hopes of a supplementary release paradoxically dashed. It appeared as though for a while we may not be hearing much more from Tom Yorke and co, yet during the mid afternoon today, silence was broken to the tune of a collaborative split 12” with Burial and Four Tet.
An unlikely trio this is not- all have worked together before. In fact, behind the anonymous moniker of Burial, William Bevan once considered himself alumni of Keiran ‘Four Tet‘ Hebden’s former school. Meanwhile, the musical similarities are numerous- all are suckers for electronics, sampling and dub/post-dub influences. Look out for the split 12” on Text Records, aired for the first time tonight on Rinse FM.
