Above is the artwork for the newly announced Waves, the sophomore LP from crossover post-rock/indie band, Moving Mountains. It is scheduled to be released on May 10th.
Amon Tobin, long-lasting pioneer of the electronic music spectrum, will release his eight studio album, ISAM, on May 23rd of this year. Though as yet unclear exactly how, ISAM is a collaborative release between Tobin and Saatchi Gallery artist Tessa Farmer. The duo are planning to showcase their work at the Crypt Gallery in London at the intersection of May and June 2011.
Jamie of the xx is making ripples across the music production scene. Having just released a relatively acclaimed remix of Gil Scott-Heron’s 2010 album, I’m New Here, a full length version of his own ‘post-dubstep’ song, “Far Nearer”, has hit the internet. We’re a couple of weeks late on this one, but it’s still well worth commenting on the fact that renowned producer and songwriter, Bibio, will release his new album, Mind Bokeh, on March 29th. It will be interesting to see the direction he takes after gaining wider exposure (partly due to “Lover’s Carvings” being used on a Kindle advert) with his 2009 release, Ambivalence Avenue.
Sufjan Stevens will embark on his first European tour in about five years, beginning in April. This will include a number of dates in the UK, and daughters of wealthy fathers will almost certainly be in attendance.
